IVES will identify and publish a range of type definitions for 3rd party classification methods and a set of classifications for common purposes. If all Suppliers utilise an IVES Standard Type when there is one available, then it will greatly increase the chances of it being utilised by a Consumer, and also enables the integration with data from other Suppliers who are also using the Ives Standards Types.
The list of the IVES Standard Types, and the values (if any) that are associated with them will be stored on the www.ives.info website. This list will be extended over time as appropriate, but changes and deletions will be kept to a minimum in order to enable people to use the types in comparative safety.
